My new Vlog #006 is about my last stay in Phuket. I was there for 14 days in March and April of 2016. I come often to Phuket – normally twice a year. When I counted correctly this time was my 7th stay on the beautiful, big and famous Thai island.

I will show you some spots in Patong, my Hotel Andatel Grande Patong Phuket some nice beaches, food and the world’s famous Bangla Road. Watch the video and you will have a nice impression of the trip and read below for a more detailled view to my trip and some personal favourites.

I flew over from Bangkok with Thai Smile/Thai Airways-Flight WE277 on a nice Saturday afternoon. I shared it my VLOG #005 three weeks ago as you can see here:

It was a really good flight on the low-cost carrier of Thai Airways but I couldn’t find any different to the service of the “normal” Thai Airways on a short-haul flight. I booked the flight directly at Thai Airways some weeks before.

Many people are spontanious enough and organise their accommodations when they arrive in Thailand, but I like to plan it before at home. For me the planning is allready the half holiday when I starting to search for good flights and nice hotels at home.

After my luxury 8-days stay at Eastin Grand Hotel Sathorn in Bangkok (Vlog #004 – watch here) I searched for a cheap and cosy hotel in Patong which suits to my vacation budget. That’s why I decided me for the Andatel Grande Patong Phuket for this time. I was there year before too. It’s a little bit older hotel at the north side of Patong at Patong’s main road Rat-U-Thit 200 Pee. It’s only 600m to the beach – restaurants and small and good bars are only a few steps away.

Bangla Road – the famous party area of Phuket – is just 1km away. Normally I walk over but when I m in hurry I take a Motorbike-Taxi or a TukTuk.. and more often for the way back 😉

Most of my vacation days have the same plan:

  • long sleep
  • getting lunch at some restaurant (mostly at the Red Pepper Restaurant of Aspery Hotel) on the way to the beach
  • stop at 7-Eleven for drinks and snacks
  • relaxing and swimming at the beach till sunset
  • getting a beer at the corner bar after beach
  • back to hotel for shower and getting ready for the evening
  • dinner
  • … and finally some nightlife – let’s see what’s up around the bars, Bangla or other spots in Patong! 🙂

Another great place when you don’t want the big party on Bangla but still fun, drinks and dance is behind the Otop Centre in the south of Patong in the opposite of the Hard Rock Café.

The best bar for having a lot of fun there is Lilly’s Ausie Bar. I allways go there when I’m in Patong to have fun and enjoy the evening. The girls are very happy and friendly, you get ice cold Singha and can turn your music on on Youtube on the two big screens at the bar. But there are many other Bars around: one of them is the Hanover Bar Patong where you can watch German Bundesliga and other German footballgames like Championslegaue and so on.

I could write down a lot more tips and adventures of Patong and Phuket now but it’s first enough. I like to fill this Blog slowely.. 🙂

As you can see in my video and you can read here, I had a lot of fun again and I can’t wait to go back to my “personal paradise”!

Cheers,

arnehm
