One of my favourite Cities is Singapore. I’m allways happy to be back to this super modern and fine city. With this stay at the Marina Bay Sands I visited also a favourite POI of me which I’m allways going to when I’m in town: Chinatown!
From Marina Bay Sands with MRT you can now take the blue Downtown Line directly to Chinatown Station in also three stops. If you want to come out from the train station directly infront of the People’s Park Square Complex on the picture above you can take Exit C.
I like to start my tour through Chinatown from here because it’s the most lively and crowded place in Chinatown of Singapore. From here you can see directly the difference between Chinatown and the other parts of the town: it feels like to be in a chinese city. The people are louder, the floors are filthier and it all feels a little much not as perfect as the Marina Bay and other parts of the city. All in all it looks more real to me. When I got here I like to take a beer at the 7-Eleven right next to the exit of the MRT and take a look for a while around the masses of people who are selling, shopping and eating. When you just arrived with a plane from Germany or another western country you can feel the difference right here, stunning! I love it.
On this afternoon I had the same plan: just taking a look around, getting a cold beer, eat some lunch, feel the place and enjoy my holiday. I took a look to the connected food court which typically have many little shops where you can get different chinese and asian foods and a public seating area in the middle. My choice was “Yi Pin Beef King” which offers beef in different variations (as the name says 😉 ) I took a Hot & Spicy Beef soup as you can see on the pictures.
It was very delicious and with an outside temperature of 36 degree the result was the following:
But to feel a little bit more to this story and the place watch my VLOG #009 on Youtube:
Have fun & enjoy,
